Shoulda bought a MIM.
Mine's dead on.
Yeah, I chose my username and avatar late one night and long ago, after I bought my first Tele. A cheapo MIM in arctic white.
That was before I...
It would take about twenty minutes of soldering to hear it yourself.
Can't you parallel your input triodes by using a jumper?
Yes, I realize that. I didn't put mine on a switch, I'm talking about using half of the 12AX7 input tube, like this.
I built a hybrid Gibson GA-20T /40.
One of my four inputs uses a grid leak bias. (The GA-20T had it on the mic channel.)
As others have noted,...
That's literally the Carmen Ghia amp. [ATTACH]
The AO-35 is an easy sell.
You're right about the rest of them. I've sold a dozen for thirty or forty bucks.
Start your own thread.
Threadjacking is rude.
Planning to sell it.
It's too heavy and large to use in a 15 watt amp, which is big enough for me.
Yes, there is a CT.
I just tested this PT pulled out of a Hammond S6 Chord Organ.
The red HT wires yield 780 VAC between them, with no load applied.
Does that mean...
I sold an AO-35 for a hundred bucks two years ago.
They're the most valuable Hammond amp.
You need to listen to the first six or seven albums.
You're probably thinking of the garbage they churned out after Terry died....
Thank you guys for all the help with the field coil education.
I am still astounded that there is no available schematic for the first design of...
The Philco schematic says the impedance is 450 ohms, so I guess I will try it as a choke.
Thanks, but I already have the correct Philco schematic.
I'm just looking for the field coil Model 26 schematic, and wondering if I...
As @David Barnett noted above, the Philco seems to have a back bias design - which is as new to me as the whole field coil thing was last week -...
I'm just going to ask the dumb question, because I don't have a clue.
What would happen if I just did it like this to see if it worked?
Sure looks like it, though I'd never heard of back biasing before five minutes ago.
Looks as if Hammond did the same thing on their field coil...
I think the 500 ohm part of the coil is shown over by the PT on the schematic. (The note says 450 ohms.)
There's a Legend that explains that the...
The field coil resistance measures 500 ohms.
PT shows B+ of 250v on the schematic, but it powers tons of stuff. Voltage would probably go up with...
Well, like you said, that's a schematic for a Pro rather than the Deluxe. I think I have the field coil hook up figured now. So mostly I just want...
Pinout is different between 6SN7 and 6SC7.
Certainly possible they switched tubes around, but I've read elsewhere that the field coil version used a 6SN7 in the preamp.
