Proper Cable for Fender Bassman Piggyback

So W. L. suggested a cord that is sold on Reverb as a speaker cable which fits my idea of what I want. It's made up of Mogami 3082 wire with Neutrik NP2X ends. The wire seems to be like a hybrid with a coaxial construction. I wanted to get some thoughts on whether this wire is really good...

Proper Cable for Fender Bassman Piggyback

Hey, thanks for all the quick responses. A quick search for speaker cables vs. guitar cables revealed exactly what you warned me about. Now to find a short 2-3' cord with a right angled connector on one end that doesn't cost $55.95!

Proper Cable for Fender Bassman Piggyback

I just recently got my old 1964 Fender Bassman (serial# A 00185/AA864 circuit) head repaired and am going to try it hooking it up to a V.T. Bassman 15" (serial# 9790) cabinet. It's been so long since I used it that I don't have my old cord to connect the two and I'm not sure what to use. Will...

    5F1 Troubleshooting

Getting back to this diagnosis. Have cleaned the tube pins/sockets, without any improvement. Am wondering if the hum at higher volumes may be due to the transformers. I used the classic tone 40-18019 PT and the 40-18031 OT to get more wattage out of the amp.

    5F1 Troubleshooting

Thanks for all the feedback. All the ideas are greatly appreciated. I had not found any other joints that created any noise when tapped. The amp sat in my living room for about six years. Will try the tube pin 'cleaning' next. Maybe pick up some spare tubes, just because. Am hoping to get...

    5F1 Troubleshooting

I built a Boothill 5F1 several years ago. Since I'm not a player, I never did much with it. Recently I had a harmonica player try it out to see what kind of tone it would produce. At a mid level volume with full gain on the It has a bit of hum at higher volume but the biggest problem was the...

    Any experiences with this vendor?

Shipment Received! Since my original post may appear to cast suspicion on Tubes-store.com. I just wanted to express my satisfaction with the way I was treated by this vendor. I received the second shipment of my order last week while I was out of town. Just picked it up at the Post Office...

Yes, there is that possibility. I have agreed to send money for the second package, should it arrive. Hopefully, they won't have to file a dispute for that! Mark

    Any experiences with this vendor?

Just an update. The vendor has re-shipped as of January 17th. There are new entries on the Russian Postal tracking website as recent as today. Unfortunately, I still haven't learned Russian as a second language so I am still clueless but, so far, it seems to have traveled further than the...

    Any experiences with this vendor?

Thanks for that advice. I had let him know in my last e-mail that I appreciated his response but might still file a problem with PayPal, just to cover myself. Being a 'nice guy' I was still reluctant to do so. Now that I hear it from you guys it just sounds like a good business practice...

    Any experiences with this vendor?

Thanks for the replies thus far. I am trying to hold out for a few more days before I take it to PayPal resolution. My 45 days with PayPal runs out on the 21st, so I am getting kinda antsy

    Any experiences with this vendor?

Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone else has had dealings with buying from: http://www.tubes-store.com/ I placed an order for some tubes to experiment with in early December and haven't received them yet. Finally got around to contacting them about it and did get a response from...
