    I had this very same out of phase issue when installing a new CuNiFe pickup in a Fender Vintera Custom. Did you get this figured out? I was able to.

    Yeah, I agree with you about caps. I always use a .022. With this new 72 custom, I'm going to replace the volume pots with linear taper. They are log taper and going 10 - 9 is almost like going 10 - 0. They are pretty much unusable. They are 1meg, though and I like that.

    You may find a different taper response with the cap change. It was dramatic on the Custom. I will have to measure the tone pots on this guitar…I am not sure if it they are 1 meg…sloppy solder where the numbers are. I know the original 72 is one meg.

    I measured the volume pot through the input jack and that is 250k
