Uh oh...now you're really opening the flood gates.
Is it Creme Bruleé or Crema Catalana? Are we talking Spanish flan, Cuban flan or Mexican flan?
Guitarists reading this thread are going to put on some serious pounds (kilograms).
I just brought home a paella from El Siboney. Full report to follow.
Only the owner was basque. The cooks were from Valencia, Catalonia, Granada, Madrid and the Matanzas province of Cuba.
I'll put it this way: Siboney is pretty decent for the money.
An authentic Cuban take on paella isn't going to deviate much. Paella is traditionally from Valencia. There are some strong historical and cultural ties between Valencia and Cuba. José Martí, the revered Cuban poet whose name...

My heritage is threatened!
Spaniards are very proud and protective of their gastronomy. Valencianos (those from Valencia) are no different - especially when it comes to paella. As El Marin pointed out, messing with the recipe defaults whatever you are making to being demoted to and looked...
I love the fact that TDPRI is showing international appeal. It really drives home the point that music is the universal language. What better forum than this one to make it!
