    Possible Vibro Champ Reverb Project...

This one is selling for $49... I don't want to pay that much. I'm thinking about offering $20. I'm not looking for a high powered amp, so thinking that PT would be big enough...

    Possible Vibro Champ Reverb Project...

Stopped by a local thrift store/junk shop and came across this old radio I don't know if it works at all but looking for opinions on whether or not this would be worth purchasing for the right price to use for parts (mainly for the PT and possibly the chassis, tube etc.) Again, I'm a noob...

What is your next build going to be?

After I finish the 2 I have in progress, I think I'm going to start on a dano type build that might look something like this... It's basically a cross between a tele and a revstar... I want to try and wind my own pickups for it as well. I don't really have a Gibson style guitar, so this will...

    Possible Vibro Champ Reverb Project...

So I'm looking for a project that my son and I can work on together. He has no interest in music or guitar stuff at all, but is showing an interest in learning about electronics in general (he's 13). I thought that an old tube amp has a relatively simple circuit and that it would be a good...

Post a pic of the first guitar you ever made

My first build was just the body. Dano style build using pine and mdf for top and back. I used an old neck that I had on hand and some wilkinson p-90's. It was terrible and I ended up throwing it out (the body that is). My second, and first full build from scratch is a double cut LP style with...

Erix Brotherhood Build 2022 = Pack Up The Pieces

I'm with you on this... I'm trying to use anything I can find on my build that I already have on hand, which will include the pickups, knobs etc... because I don't want to spend any more money then I have to and also because I want to see how much I can actually make with what I have. I think...

Brotherhood build 2022: Small bodied hollowbody

Ok, so I finally got some time to work on my wood bending jig. I'll need to make a few adjustments to it but I think it'll do... Note to self: don't use the high heat setting...

    What was your first guitars?

Technically, my first acoustic guitar was the Yamaha that my dad left in my room, but I never really played it because I wanted an electric guitar (cause Jimi), but the first acoustic I bought was a cheap Yamaha that I found in a pawn shop in Newcastle Australia when I was there in 2000. I had...

Anyone build an acoustic with poplar?

Thanks for the link to the plans! I was just about to go look for some... Being my first acoustic build, I'm not too concerned with how it looks, but you do make some good points about the bendability of certain woods... I'll keep that in mind. But my labor is the cost of an education and no...

    Pickup build question...

Thanks for the reply! After thinking about it a little longer, I think maybe the reason for 2 magnets other then having a stronger magnetic field, it also would balance it around the coil... with a ceramic strat pickup, the bar magnet is generally placed under the pole pieces, but a strat pickup...

    Pickup build question...

I originally posted this over at the Home Depot Forum before being notified that there is a dedicated pickup forum over here... so I'm posting here. I'm considering building my own set of pickups for one of my builds... I'm thinking about doing a P90 style pickup with a single bar magnet...

    Pickup construction question...

I'm considering building my own set of pickups for one of my builds... I'm thinking about doing a P90 style pickup with a single bar magnet (possibly A2) next to the slugs/screw pole pieces using materials that I have on hand to construct the pickup. My question is, will one magnet be enough per...
