I don't know why. I got rid of the 1 Blues Jr. I ever owned. But that's not saying a lot as I've had dozens and dozens of amps in the passing parade of gear over the years. The Blues Jr worked well, but no better or worse than this HRD. Tho I've just really been exploring the functionality of...
The serial number Wally. One link I found searching "implied" 96, but IDK. Obviously there's no certainty in that discovery, that's why I'm searching for answers. Whether I keep it or sale it, the more I know about it the better. I bought it like 3+ years ago for a couple hundred bucks. I don't...
LOL. I though a Blues Jr was most common. I figured it was a hot rod, just curious any of the particulars, if any. Year etc.....I think it's a 96 from what I've been searching. Sounds great.
I picked up a Fender Deluxe amp awhile back. Reverb didn't work and I sent it to my tech. This was like 3 years ago. After he was done, I plugged it in maybe once. So I've pulled it out today trying to figure out what I want to do with it. But I'd like some more info on it if anyone can help...
They are "grain lines". Since I've got the color, nitrocellulose based paint applied, would you recommend just covering it again, as it is now, with more sealer and then sand back smooth? Then apply new paint?
I'm in the middle of refinishing a left handed mini Squire that I'm refinishing and upgrading for a friend. I stripped to the wood, primered with a nitro based vinyl sealer and noticed some grain coming thru. I guess this body was not alder or ash. It's a squire, so it's got some grain anyways...
Ive been working on a new strat build using a MIJ body I've refinished. Had hours into it. SS, nitro based primer and paint from reranch, and numerous coats of nitro clearcoat....Had a little dent I couldn't leave alone.....Long story short, I stripped it down to the wood and am rushing to get...
Thanks Steve. Great advice. I've seen that kit browsing Stewmac. Wasn't sure if it was enough to get started and to complete. Sounds like it might just be a good place to start.
I've got that book Itchy. I will use it as a resource, but as I originally wrote, it has "every" tool. I can't...
I appreciate the insight Koko. I build, refinish and repair at least a dozen guitars per year. I've been considering taking the plunge in this area for a bit. When I bought this MIJ project on eBay, I didn't expect the neck to need so much work...... I actually have a couple throw away necks to...
I've picked up a very distressed '86 MIJ strat that I'm refinishing the body, however, the neck is a mess too. Crack in headstock I've repaired and I'd like to replace the frets but not sure of exactly what tools I'll need. I've seen the videos. Have some books. Can shop eBay or Stewmac, but...
Thanks. I'll look into these. I've emailed Mohawk. There's a distributor about 30 minutes from here, but want to be certain they can seal the deal before making the trek.
That auto parts store in NJ night be good. I'd prefer buying online, but color would be a minor gamble.
I'll let you know
