Absolutely WRONG. Did Wagner and to a lesser extent Hunter play on a couple of tunes on Get Your Wing? Yes. How many bands in the history of bands haven't used session players or ghost players to get records done on time and on budget?
Really, the only "classic rock" band anyone should be listening to or going to see is Aerosmith, all 5 original members and America's biggest selling hard rock band of all time. Love 'em or hate 'em, that they have managed to survive and continue to do what they do is nothing short of astounding.

Brad Whitford(Aerosmith) and Derek St. Holmes(Ted Nugent) left their respective bands to form Whitford/St.Holmes and achieved predictable mediocre results.
