What the difference between a $2k and $4k Fender?

Production line guitar made by people who may or may not be cross trained with other specific jobs along the production chain, versus production line guitar made by apprentice luthiers who have at least some basic knowledge of the stages and techniques of guitar building as a foundation for...

Why do people pay more than they should for reissues?

You are delusional. And you don't value other people's time. One you have actually worked for a living, maybe you'll understand the value of labor. You said yourself Fender puts at least $1k in materials into their build. If you think tacking on another $600-$800 buck is unreasonable it just...

    Advice on delay/echo

Worst customer service ever, and a subpar chicken sandwich to boot.

    Advice on delay/echo

My Chick-del-A is my favorite pedal. If I could only have one, this would be it. It's two delays stacked in one pedal.

Has The Zodiac Killer Mystery Been Solved (Again)?

American Original is gone... and nothing was announced to replace it

It's not an opinion, it is a fact. Fender Mexico deliberately cuts out the finer fit and finish steps to make an instrument for the budget minded consumer at a lower price level. I am an actual guitar tech, I have setup thousands of guitars and worked on as many. I can actually define a...

Why are there so many used Boss Katana's for sale

The Champion 20's and their brothers in the Fender line are also nice little amps. I have sold several of them as well, usually they are part of a guitar + amp deal. The 20's sound pretty great clean, and they have very usable overdrive and effects. Kids are spoiled today.

American Original is gone... and nothing was announced to replace it

Nah, too much money to bilk customers out of. The bean counters are surely behind the AO's demise. And coping and shilling about how Mexican guitars are just as good isn't doing the consumer any favors.

American Original is gone... and nothing was announced to replace it

Nitro takes weeks. A poly Ultra takes a couple of days. And they are spraying them in California, which is going to be an environmental nightmare because everything is known by the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects...

American Original is gone... and nothing was announced to replace it

Not in my experience. The Players don't even have a rolled fretboard. I haven't touched a single Mexican Fender that felt, played, or sounded as good as my 96 American Standard Strat. And I sell them for a living. My Deluxe v-neck Strat blows every other Strat I have ever played away, and it...

The Best Acoustic Guitars These Days

I picked up a Japanese Takamine TAN650c for $200 a couple of weeks ago. Previous owner blew out the side of the guitar trying to upgrade to the CPT3 module from the CPT2 module(both modules were included with the hard case). They both use a vacuum tube in the acoustic preamp. It is a nylon...

Why are there so many used Boss Katana's for sale

Because the Katana has a 12" speaker, was $220 before everything went to ****, and for that money you are lucky to find anything decent at all brand new with warranty. That's the price of a garbage Crate starter amp back in the 90s. It is one of the best beginner amps today for several reasons...

Why do cheap pickups sound bad?

Because they are made with garbage components. Look at the copper winds, the chinesium copper is pinkish while pickups made in countries with standards will be pure copper. That's like asking why a Walmart boot sucks compared to a Danner.
