    A Peavey practice amp

I am returning to music afterward a long, long absence. I had played from age 15 to my 20s when in short order my guitar and amp (A Fender Twin Reverb) were stolen, I married and moved away for grad school.

Much later my son would express an interest in music so I bought a Danelectro U2 in order to teach him the cowboy chords. He quickly surpassed me and became a true monster guitarist. For whatever reason I had to sell the Dano. (As the very first electric that I had played was a Silvertone amp-in-case, I have a nostalgic attachment to lipstick pickups.)

Many years later, while searching a pawn shop for a used 1/2 drill, I spotted a guitar that just seemed out of place. This shop usually sold cheap, barely playable, no name guitars. This guitar had white binding, Seymour Duncan Humbuckers and a carved flame top. Looking at the head of the guitar I realized that this was a Fender Telecaster unlike any that I was familiar with. And the price: $99! Chhecking it out on my phone I realized it was the real deal. I asked why the low price and was told that it had a missing knob. Of course I bought her and am currently trying to relearn guitar. She is a Telecaster Limited Edition Custom FT HH. While maybe not a purist’s Telecaster I really love her.

My next quest is to find a small, affordable tube amp.
