The first time I laid eyes on one of these was in the capable hands of a lady named Polly, down-town, on Hotel Street in Honolulu, around 1964. I had been playing in a band a couple of doors down, and was on break. She, dressed in a 'Mu-mu', perched on a stool with that Falcon, smiled at me and promptly melted my (Usually) un-melt-able heart. She had an old Guild 'copycat', and the tape had just broke... (curses, curses) . She had this guy named "Ramblin' Russ" playing pedal steel. I asked her if they would play 'Night Life' for me; it was THE BEST rendition of that song (Sorry, Ol' Ray...) that I had ever heard; I never forgot that moment, and I always thought that this axe was the prettiest guitar ever made!
