Hey y'all!

I've had this itch for a fender scale length guitar with a P90 pickup in the neck position.

I saw my CV Telecaster laying there and I decided to go for it!

Here's the video of the project where you can also get to hear it, it was a ton of fun! :

What are some cool mods you have done to your Classic Vibe Guitars?

Cheers guys!

Made a Nashville out of my CV BSB Tele. Amazing guitar to start with, but made better with Rose pickups (now closed): Bourbon in A5 for the neck, a Robusta in the middle (A2), and a Buckaroo (A2) in the bridge. 7-way switching with push pull switch giving me neck/bridge and all three in addition to the traditional Strat arrangement. Reversed the control plate too. Added Tort guard. Now this does EVERYTHING I wanted.

JK, they may not be the "coolest", but they are mine and to me they are :)

Also working on a refin for my original Crafted in China CV50.
Going with a Chameleon color shifting paint job on it.
I know, soooo '90s. I think it will be awesome!

I will check out the pickups. Thanks for the tip.

If you want to cut another pickguard for a P90, drill four holes for the corners of the opening you want, being careful to get them in the right spots. Tape off tangent lines around the holes. Then, use a coping saw. (Put the blade through the hole, then attach to saw.) Cut just a hair inside and smooth with a file after. It'll make it a lot easier to make a smooth, nice fitting opening with no dremel walk or extra cuts.
Those are '50s tools, by the way.

Nice! I'll definitely try that out on another guard. I knew I should have posted here before going for it! Thanks for sharing buddy!

Yes, extremely cool, and not just because I, too, have gone with a P90 in the neck (one of Rob DiStefano's great P90s)
