Glad they finally got that sorted.

    Cheers,

Confusing, because there are some overtly political messages in there, like "She's got legs, and she knows how to use them." I mean, come on, cold war, duh!

That's genius, but the Onion is reliably amusing.

I think Billy will probably change the story a few times, so that we will never know.

    originally it was titled "arms"
but then BB KIng heard it and said
"why are you messing around with arms?
you should be singing about legs."
    the rest is history.

That's funny, I could almost swear I heard Brian Williams say it was him.

no brian wiliams got him to play light strings
(even though brian williams never played light strings , mostly 11s and 10s)

Well, the jury is still out on it's original working title. Early versions are believe to include "She's got pancreas, she knows how use it...."

” Gibbons went on to say, however, that most of ZZ Top’s songs, such as the anti-apartheid anthem “Tush,” were pretty straightforward." Now this one is surprising to me as it clearly has a "Man vs Nature" message.

There are just no more bands out there with the awareness and bold, forthright social commentary of ZZ Top. Sad...

Very interesting, I'm glad that I lived long enough to hear it from the horses mouth. On a side note, does anyone know anything about the weathered old barn finished Telecaster and bass in the picture in the linked story? I all of a sudden don't think I will be able to live life without a sililar guitar.

    tschommer,

Great shot of the "Peeler" bass & guitar on The Onion.

Elwood Francis, Top Gtr Tech, discusses the "Peeler" in the Premier Guitar video..

    From the PG vid description:

"Dusty Hill’s new No. 1 bass matches Billy Gibbons’ No. 1 guitar, and both are chambered John Bolin creations.
The new designs are called the “Peeler” guitar and bass, because of the paint-peeling look,
which is a laminate sticker design that was inspired by the peeling finish of a ’56 Precision bass that was damaged in a flood."
