Hi,its the 78' tele with 1 Meg pots.Problem is the allmost unbearable 'Zing' sound on the high B and E strings when picked, especially on open E string.Im using 009s,nut slots and saddles seem ok.Anyone knows what's the culprit?Would changing to brass saddles or 250k pots cure this? Thanks!

If you're concerned about keeping it original, try the brass saddles first, its easily reversable. Even if your not concerned about it being original, try the brass saddles first- those 1 megs can produce some GREAT tones. And if your not happy with the tone still, then switch to 250k. Hope this helps, kinda sorta. :D
