Well for years my number one was my 1989 Squier Strat "the Veteran" but that one is now retired from active duty, she usually hangs on the wall when I can take a loving gander at her curves or take her down for a strum, sometimes playing her for hours.

So if she is no longer my number one, then what has taken her place?

That would be my "Son of Fido" which has become my to-go guitar, with it's clever switching system I can get almost every tone I can think off. Kahler whammies have a bad name for some reason i don't understand but the one on my guitar keeps it in tune properly and it's light and responsive.

If somebody from a guitar company approaches me to do a signature model I'd hand them the "Son of Fido" and tell them that it should be just like that. Although I'd probably request one in a matching shade of red to my old strat.

Inspired by the first 1950 Esquire. I love everything I make but this one definitely has "it".

    Can´t decide between these two:

Partscaster Telly with Paulowniabody and Musicman Silhouette. For the moment I lean more towards my Telly.

My #1 changes periodically depending on my mood I guess.

For years it was my '65 Mustang... then it was my 12 string Dano... then it was my '73 Tele.

Right now it's this one... scratch built it last year.

I like that! Looks like a bit of stretched out tele, with a bit of LP in there for kicks. It would work well with any combination of pickups and hardware, imo.

I have ten guitars; theres no number one, except per project (this guitar for this project, this other guitar for this other project etc)

I do have a "number one" for gig backup... I always take this one as a backup guitar, because its dependable and very lightweight... but the number one main guitar for each gig will vary

I hate to admit this, even to myself, but my current number one is my FMT HH Indonesian made Fender Tele.

It's not my "best" guitar, but it's just so darned playable. It feels great. It's light. And it is versatile as can be with a pair of coil-split Seymour Duncan humbuckers.

Holland, I suppose the acoustic is a Gibbo j 35?
If so, would you mind to let me know how you like it? I'm interested in it, so what about the plugged/unplugged sound for example?
    And playability?

    Cool collection BTW!!! ;)

    Thanx!
It is a J35. I choose it over a j45 and j45 custom. There were a lot of differences between the same model, tone wise. After all it's a very personal thing. It's a balanced accoustic sound, with a big low end (not as much as a Martin D18.
Plugged it was a surprise, that good (ehm, to me:lol:).
