“And tonight some dance hall doctor...might break the chains that locked her”
“She’s healing the feeling between her Blue Eyes and Jeans”

That right there is quite possibly the single coolest country line ever recorded. Best I know of in near 50 yrs of playing it anyway

well I hear that Laurel Canyon is full of famous stars

For me the best line of a song is in John Schneiders' song "She's Ready For Someone To Love Her". The first line is:- Her heart has had more knocks than a Gypsies Tambourine.. S

Still crazy after all these years

Wait, let me explain, and please bear with me here. I just heard this song for the thousandth time, but it was like the very first time because I "heard" it differently. Paul Simon says he likes to start with something concrete when he writes and then go off from there. But I never really paid any attention to the line until just now. I just thought it was a cute line, like "yeah we're all a little crazy, ha ha". But NO! I think he was saying that his old girlfriend was a nutjob. Like, have you ever thought back to an old relationship and wondered what was so bad and then finally remembered why you couldn't stand her?

    I met my old lover
    On the street last night
She seemed so glad to see me
    I just smiled
And we talked about some old times
And we drank ourselves some beers
Still crazy after all these years

    Oh yeah, she cray cray.

Ok, I'll shut up now. Carry on.

From my #1 all time fave song-
    Bob Dylan's " Like a Rolling Stone"

    End of last verse:

    "....When you ain't got nothin',
    You got nothin' to lose
    You're invisible now,
you got no secrets to conceal.
    How does it feel?..."
