Aerosmith - Walk this way
Rush - Sprit of Radio
Joe Walsh - Analog Man
Amazing how 80s pop cr@p and its offspring does creep up on everything - even on a thread about guitar intros after a couple of pages.
Here's one from the Hair Farmer days...
I always loved the acoustic intro to this song by Warrant. And I consider this the best song in their catalog - miles beyond their 'hits' like 'Cherry Pie.' Solid guitar work throughout.
Shine on you crazy diamond
Only one other mention that I saw, but...
Brown Sugar is by far my favorite...
HA! Are you referring to my Tommy Tu-Tone, Blondie, Marshall Creshaw, etc. Heh heh.
A bit maybe. But it was mainly Nena and some of the later Van Halen stuff that stroke me against the grain. Already sorry for that.
Pretty simple guitar part but it gets my foot tapping when it comes on the radio.
I was just thinking about this Hollies song the other day.. not sure if its been mentioned yet but the intro just grabs ya...all these years later.
Walk This Way....simple funky rock swagger.
Dine-o-mite! So many I haven't thought about and yup, I remember that. Here's more.
No More Mr Nice Guy.
I'm Your Captain.
Yeah, sorry about Nena, that was my fault. Almost didn't do it. But jeez that beat always get me moving. It's one of the few 80s-pop-crap that I like
I tried to counterbalance, pairing it with China Cat Sunflower. That's gotta count for something...
My personal favorite, the guitar intro wakes me up.
I know Hagar era Van Halen doesn’t get much love around here, but the guitar intros on these two tunes sure made me want to play guitar back in the day (and still sound cool to my ears).
