    Hello, every one.

What is (are) your favorite solo guitar introductions?

You know, the ones that whenever you hear them, you have to stop what you're doing just so you can listen to the song without being distracted.

It can be any genre, any song.

I'll begin by offering these two:

From The Beginning, by Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

And, Blood On The Rooftops, by Genesis

    And yours?

Duane Eddy, "Three-Thirty Blues" - whoever thought Duane could play da blues? (on a Gretsch?) has a tasteful Al Casey piano break.

It's got to be Gimme Shelter. I love the way it slowly winds up the intensity until the drums eventually come in after 40 seconds or so. Pure class from a band at the top of their game.

The jam in the middle of Rock'n'Roll from this record (starting 4:20 then picking up at 7:35) is just plain awesome.

I think it's Dick Wagner with the underwater sounding phase shifter (or whatever it is) and man is it cool! The whole album is just incredible.

The descending lick at 3:14 on Lady Day is just amazing. Sorry (but also not really) for beginning to hijack this thread haha...
