Like the thread title says: WTB Fender Thermometer case for a Tele. Looking for a used case in tweed or tolex. Not looking for the Rondo cases please. I'm not happy with the fit.

Please let me know what you have. Condition and asking price.
    Thanks.

You will find that buying and selling is prohibited in the main forum. This should really appear in the Classifieds.

I would, however, comment that the Tweed Thermometer cases offer little protection for the enclosed instrument and are terribly unbalanced. They look great but I don't use mine for gigs, etc. as they are rubbish as a protective case. Great for show, but not for "go".

    :) Peter

Mods please move to the appropriate sub forum. I wasn't sure where to put it.

Thanks for the tip Anthony. I'll check it out.

Peter, Thanks for the advice. I do have the tweed center pocket case but I'm looking for a thermometer case for an accessory. Also I've found that some balance quite well. It depends on the case construction and particularly where the handle is mounted.

I love the tweed that came with my Nocaster. But I would not gig with.

I'm not looking for a gigging case, but the Rondo cases don't fit very well and have the handle in the wrong spot for balance.

Anthony, I couldn't find that ebay seller. Any links?

I would contact g&g direct via their website. I just ordered a thermometer case in alligator with red lining. They will build it to your spec... A bit pricy at $300 and takes about 8 weeks

Eight weeks? Are you kidding me? Glendale Guitars has that case in stock.

I tried Glendale, dale's been out of the cases for a while now. Yeah, eight weeks is what's quoted... So probably tack a few more weeks on that

The tweed thermometer case that came with my Nocaster doesn't fit well and is not very practical(very limited storage). They are so poor for practical use that Fender included a SKB style case with all the Nocasters. A rectangular tweed case is a large improvement. I would suggest getting one of them.

I've had several Nocasters and have always sold them (I know, stupid). They all came with the thermometer case, which, as Viejo said, is useless except for the "coolness" factor. I just recently picked up a used Nocaster that had a Fender tweed case, center pocket, no less. I knew it wasn't the "right" case for the guitar but realized that it was a much better case than the thermometer one.

So, to the OP, if you want the coolness factor, get the real-deal thermometer case, if you want to protect the guitar, get either the SKB case or a tweed.
