No. If I were buried with all my gear, there'd be no room for me.

Can't play it when yer dead.

The can do whatever the hell they like with me when I'm gone. My preference is cremation but, to answer the question, I'd hate to think of guitars going to waste, stuck underground.

I love the idea of having my ashes mixed up with some composite and used to make a guitar neck. That way I’ll literally live on in rock and roll!!!

Well, since it wasn't listed as a requirement in the first post, I really would have to insist on being dead first.
Perhaps a small detail, but you know how it is these days.

When I was young the answer would’ve been yes. Nowadays I think I’d prefer someone else got a chance to make music on it.

I wanna be cremated and have a portion of my ashes welded into a small compartment in one of the tubes of a bicycle, preferably my daughter’s bike. Or maybe one of my much younger riding buddies who lives someplace beautiful like the Alps or Dolomites. Then I can keep riding. Your post reminded me of that for obvious reasons...

Not reaaly sure it s legal except if you ve got a biodegradable guitar.

It will last for a good 5 mns if you re buried alive though.

No. Once I'm gone I've told my son to pick one guitar to keep as a memento and sell the rest.

My instructions are "keep what you like, take the rest to the LGS and sell 'em or put 'em on consignment". Same with my shooting irons.

FWIW, I have advised the owners of both the guitar and gun stores that if they see a blonde walk through the door with all my stuff, it's okay because I won't be coming back and to make her an offer, she isn't likely to say "no".

No. Why would a well loved instrument deserve that end - rotting away in the dark.

Let someone else enjoy it or sell it to get something they need/want.

No. They will all go to my kids to do what they want with them.

Except my first acoustic (a Yamaha) that goes to my best friend from high school. If she wants to give it back to the family after she dies, that is up to her.

I have extended relatives that play guitar. The wife has instructions not to let any of them in my room. They would strip it like a bunch of vultures. I have a file box in the room with detailed information, case candy etc for everything. The wife will know what she has and be able to sell it. It doesn't take long to amass a substantial amount of money in your average little guitar man cave. I made the box so she actually does know what I paid for this stuff. Bury a Gibson ES 175? I don't think so.

Bury me with a picture of the guitar though. My guitars will go to family and friends.
