... if they used the Gibson headstock shape (the way Squiers have the Fender shape? Personally, I probably would.

Or if they used the headstock from the Wildcat.

I’m not proud of it, but yes I would.

Haven't given it 5 seconds of thought.

Never look at the headstock when I am playing my ES339.

If they used Gibson pickups. I actually like the shape of Epis. Less so the electronics

Nitro yes. Bonus for Gibson pickups. Headstock doesn't matter to me.

I love Epiphones, don't care about the headstock. Had about 10 of them.

If it's an Explorer shape, yes.

I've never had a problem with the Epiphone headstock shape.

Don't just copy the Gibson ... make improvements:
    Introducing straight string pull?
A shorter headstock would increase sustain.

I too greatly prefer the earlier pre 1964 “short” headstock.
The longer “pinched” or “waisted” is not nearly as aesthetically pleasing, IMO.

I like the fact that the corners of the Epi headstock are champhered off and because of that they don't chip as easily on the corners as the Gibsons are known to do. Other than that either one of them is fine to me.

I never really noticed the difference enough to worry about it.

I like the Epi headstock on archtops...looks classic.
Not so much on the smaller-bodied solids...looks too big and out of balance to me.

Wouldn't make a difference to me.
The main appeal of Epiphone is a good quality guitar for a reasonable price. Likewise for Squier.

Yes, I would. Same with the Electronics. My Epi Explorer Thunderhorse has USA Burstbuckers, but the other electronics suck. The headstock is the same as the Gibsons.

Absolutely. The Epi headstock is horrid, IMO. Even something simple like a Martin would be better.

I hate the Epi headstocks, but I own three and what they're hooked to are fantastic, so I have to look past the facade.

However, I must admit that I'm very jealous of my wife's Gibby LP's headstock (Yeah, okay, and the guitar too ).

I guess maybe I'm not so vain after all.:D Or maybe I am?
