Will Gibson knob-pointers fit on a Fender?

    Y'know, these things:

I recently got to where I've adjusted all the knobs on my guitars so that the "10" faces straight up, as an easy way to tell visually where the knob is set (and on my Tele, whose knobs are not numbered, the set screw functions as the "10").

I thought these pointers might make a cool-looking addition with a similar function. After all, "straight up" perpendicular to the guitar neck does not equal "straight up" when I'm playing (and all my guitars sit a little differently, so adjusting for that would get confusing).

Any idea if these will fit?

Yes. They'll fit as long as you use metric pointers with metric pots (8mm?) and inch pointers with inch pots (3/8").

Sure. Thumb rippers. No problem. They'll fit.

Thanks! Any easy way to tell which pots I have, aside from measuring them?

I never even knew there was such a thing. Golly, the things you learn on this board....

Where was your guitar made? Generally, US and MIM (unless that has changed) Fenders have 3/8" diameter pot bushings and Asian made guitars have metric (though the metric size can vary)

Ah, I thought that might have something to do with it.

I have electrics from the US, Mexico, Indonesia and S. Korea., and I want to try the knob pointers on 3 of them, so I suppose my needs will vary. In any case, I just bought my first calipers, so I guess that will come in handy for determining pot size.
