I took the neck of my 1999 '63 relic today for the first time and I have to say that I'm a bit confused as to why it has two dates stamped on it. Has anyone else seen one like this? It must be one of the first run on in house relic jobs given to dates but it seems weird. Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing each date is for a particular operation but I never worked for Fender.

I took a tour at the PRS plant in 2000/01. They had their own drying Ron where they would store wood till it hit their ideal moisture content. I wonder if this is a beginning process date and a finish date maybe?? I somehow recall that it took 4 to 6 weeks to dry the wood properly

Date neck was finished. Date neck was mated to the body?

Ask the Custom Shop. Only way to know for sure. Could just be an anomaly with no reason behind it.

That did cross my mind but I was told previously that cunetto necks had the custom shop logo embossed on them and not stamped like mine but who knows.
I've mailed Fender but the last time I mailed them about something specific I just got a generic answer back.
