I am a year younger then Clapton and grew up and understand the direction his music evolved.

With 100 years of blues and jazz and country guitar recordings for free on youtube, I find a new favorite every week.

If i had to pick just one it would be David Gilmour, with SRV right behind him.

Brent Mason- hands down. He has played on more hits than anyone that I can think of. Always tasty.
It used to be Albert Lee but his tone changed when he went to MM.

Mick Green. Just something I find irresistible about his playing.

I know I've said that I have three top favorites (James Burton, Clarence White, & Marty Stuart) so.....if someone had me to quickly name my favorite guitarist, it would be Marty Stuart. The man is classy, friendly, down-to-Earth, etc. He's a consummate entertainer and knows how to please his audience. BTW, I just literally stumbled onto the new video/radio show below.....

Clapton - not just for his playing skills, but what he's done since he began playing to now.

In an odd kind of way Eric is perhaps the most underrated guitarist out there.

This one is a bit out there, but a guy named Markus Toivonen from Ensiferum. I love the melodic lines he comes up with to support thier music.

    Just one? Jimmy Page!

Oh there are other musicians that i follow and who influence me but if I think of the one, it’s Jimmy Page and always has been.

Pagey for me too. His licks, fills and solos are inventive, tasty and too cool for school IMO.
