I'd say after yesterdays embarassment to the Cowboys every sports media is going to be after Tony Romo in a feeding frenzy. He's the best, he's the worst. I think he's just not a great quarterback like Aikman or Staubach and Dallas just needs to realize that. Having said that I wonder what his future will be in Dallas. I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded.

As I heard Bob Costas say this morning, this is entertainment at it's very best.

I love the look he gave Jerry Jones after Jerry tried to pat him on the back in the 4th quarter.

I laughed until my sides ached. I don't dislike Romo, but I hate Jerry Jone's Cowboys.

Romo is like everything else associated with Jones; way over hyped. No heart, no guts.

He probably got paid...no matter what the score. Maybe they should ONLY pay those players IF they win. That'll put a fire inside them.

    No mo' Romo

Greatest quarterback in the history of the world. NOT.

I don't get this whole Tony Romo thing. Sorry ... I'd never heard of him before he took over a few years back. And to compare him to Manning, or Brady, or Brees ... insipid.

    :D

McNabb 0-4 (fan here) downright disgusting. But Tony Nomo just can't be consistent. He had 2 very good games leading up to this embarassment. I don't like the Jerry Jones show so I wish them a quick demise. But Nomo just doesn't seem like the guy who studies film and takes the extra hours throwing to the receivers. He is more like the guy who takes everyone to dinner and gets them drunk and picks up the tab. And I don't care what you say, he is not as good as McNabb either even if DM is going out downhill. At least DM will get considered for the HOF.

Make a list of all the QB's you'd rather have than Romo. (Browns Fan here). I'll just do it off the top of my head:

    Brady
    Brees
    Rogers
    Ryan
    The kid from Tampa Bay
    Flacco
    Manning 1
    Manning 2
    Rivers

Ok I'm about out of ideas, I'm sure I missed a couple good ones (I purposely omitted Roethlispuker).

So, yeah, I think Romo is in the top 10 of the QBs in the league. I think Dallas has more problems than Romo. I'd take him on the Browns in a second. But I'm just glad to see the Blowboys stinking up the field.

I thought Romo showed heart last week, but that was not enough this week.

You mean Tony OH NO. That's what I call him when he makes a boneheaded decision like throwing an int or fumbling the ball.

    Romo ?

He was just a victim of circumstance.

It could have been a zombie Roger Staubach or one of the Transformers at QB

Cowboys were gonna lose either way.

They were playing the LIONS !

    4 and 0.

Here's my take on this (yes I'm a McNabb fan). If you look at the main QB stats, McNabb is on track to finish in the top 5 or 10 all-time in several important stats (yds, tds, int. %, etc.). That is assuming he gets another 2-3 years playing time, whether as a starter or active sub. He's 34. QBs can play until 39-40 (see Farve, Moon, Evans, etc.), so if he finds the right situation I think he'll get the games in. If MN doesn't work out, I hope he finds a better landing spot.

He had many great years in Philly playing with a good O-line and average receivers (with good receiving RBs). He was also handicapped in Philly by consistently numbskull play calling (if you're an Eagles fan you know what I'm talking about). Since then, he's played in DC and MN with horrible O-lines and below average receivers (and in DC no RBs and an O-coordinator who didn't like him), so hardly the recipe for success.

QBs are not islands -- no matter how much talent, they have to have a quality supporting cast to succeed. One thing about the Mannings, Brees, Brady is they always play behind awesome O-lines and usually with above-average receivers. An extra second in the pocket with receivers that can get separation makes all the difference in how we as fans perceive a QB's talent.
