I just played Neil Young songs for about an hour sitting on one of wood benches that I built around our fire pit. It's 71 outside with no humidity. The sun was going down. Something inside me said "get outside".

Harvest Moon, Cowgirl in the Sand, The Painter, After the Goldrush, Down By the River, Everybody Knows This is Nowhere. Felt good. I could hear frogs down in the pond. Their contribution was appreciated.

I've been listening to Waging Heavy Peace on Audible and it has rekindled my interest in Crazy Horse and Buffalo Springfield and even The Squires.

Do you wander outside to play? How long ago was it and what did you play?

I do it all the time, any time.
I gig outdoors fairly regularly, too.
My Goodall actually has a “suntanned” top, from being played outside.
Some people have mistaken it for cedar, but it’s Sitka spruce.
I play my Vox Virage and 335 (unplugged) if I want to play quietly outside, at night.
    Love it!

Last Thursday did a gig outside. Play a lot in warm months on the patio and around the fire pit

Every day in my back yard with an acoustic or one of my electrics through a Pocket Pod and headphones. It is my 2nd favorite place to play. First place goes to playing outside when camping in a remote scenic location.

Yesterday, sitting on the front porch watching the sunset.

I may be biased, but sunsets over Lake Erie are the best I've ever seen. When I lived in Key West, those weren't as good since there's an island right in the way (Tank Island, from when KW was a major refueling base for The Navy during WWII- now has multimillion dollar condos built on it and is basically a private island).

Belize, which I sailed the entire 400 mile coast then back up more than half that. The mainland was to the west.

Here there is another island 8 miles away (Bass Islands, Put-In-Bay, which has the Perry International Peace Memorial, couple hundred foot tall obelisk with a light on top). But they aren't that much higher than Kelleys (>20 feet above lake level).

This time of year - almost every day.

My wife and I pull camping chairs out into the driveway. She sits and relaxes - I play guitar.

I played an outdoor gig last weekend and I have a monthly gig on our drummer's front porch. I much prefer playing outdoors. When my kids were little, I used to play out in my shady backyard with a battery powered amp during nap time.

We played an outdoor venue a few weeks ago. Have two more outdoor gigs this year as of now. When I was a teenager and early 20's I would pack a guitar in my backpack and go out to an island. I'd build a fire and spend all day playing next to the river. Wrote a lot of good songs doing that. These days I don't really like to mix the two. I like to focus all my attention on one or the other. I find it hard to fully enjoy both at the same time and I prefer to be quiet when out in nature. Maybe that will change someday.

About three years ago, in a sagging marquee during a torrential rainstorm, until the power went out...

I don't believe I ever have and I never would, if there was an audience.

Monday, sitting on the front porch of my house before having dinner, 30°C and a lot of humidity. Here's the view I enjoy when I play outside (Tuscan countryside) 12191356_10206854638437794_2671654402643269676_o.jpg

A couple of years ago. It's summer now, so it's too hot to really do anything outside until December.
