That one guitar you've been wanting for years... It may not be expensive, just hard to find. You search for it often, even misspell the name in hopes the owner misspelled it in their listing. As soon as it pops up, you call, send an email, text on the way to your car....

This is mine. The Neal Schon Aria Pro II.

I came close a few years back. It predates the model above by a year. After getting in touch with the owner, I found out he actually won it at a Journey concert in 1982. He got to meet the band when he got it and had them autograph the pickguard. He didn't play so it got stuck in a closet for 30 years. Obviously I bought it.

IMG_0160.JPG Les Paul Axcess from the Tucson Craigslist about 5 years ago. Absolutely mint condition, incredible guitar and not hard to look at either.

i got a really cool purple Ibanez Randy Scruggs.
it was in perfect shape, and I wish I still had it.
It’s was the Bob Weir/Rex Bogue/Mahavishnu/sen ash/Les Paul lookin’ critter.
I had never seen, nor heard of the plum/purple colored model.
It weighed a ton, and in a fit of idiocy, I traded it away.
    Doh!

Steinberger Mega Axe. It was designed by Ed Roman when he was working there and is super rare. I played on (in Ed's house's bank vault) and it was unbelievable.

Mine would be a fender mustang. Obviously not hard to find online, (out of my price range at the time) but as soon as one hit the local craigslist for a decent price I hopped on it. Traded a mim strat for it!

An 80s ESP M1 - the single pickup version, with the two point Strat trem. I look for them all over the place. I owned one for a few years in the early 90s - phenomenal guitar.

Mine was just like this, but blue, with nickel hardware:

Not quite the same, but one day I hope to find, and reaquire, the '85 Jeep CJ-7
Laredo I owned in college and sold shortly after graduation.
I needed something with a more functional air conditioner.
You know, for the suit and tie job I found.
Fortunately that only lasted a few years.

    Unicorn?

Something I want at a price I'll pay that's actually what the ad says it is sold by an actual adult.

About as common as a unicorn.

Squier Tele Custom II. Used to see them all the time, but they seem to have dried up... around here at least. I passed on one a year ago and still kicking myself for it.

That said, I DID find my CL amp-unicorn two weeks ago, the now-discontinued Ampeg GVT15 combo. Fun amp and not too terribly loud.

I'm looking for another Edwards Les Paul rep. I love my Crews Maniac replica Les Paul type, but it's a bit too nice for the venues I play. My last Edwards was perfect to throw around, sound and look great and played amazingly.

Gibby LP Junior DC TV yellow. My strategy is to kiss up to @noah330 and waiting until he runs out of wall space and guitar case storage until he just has to start purging and mail me one from his huge collection.;) IMG_2993.JPG

I have maybe five of those in my storage unit lol! I think I've poasted pics here before.

The Junior thing is super confusing to me for anyone who is like 30 or older. You could buy those all day long for almost nothing for so long then all of a sudden people want them.

The TV ones were always a little harder to find but even still, they were never all that valuable.
