Hmmm, I had to think about it a little, but in order of proficiency:
    1. Guitar/vocals
    2. Tenor sax/clarinet
    3. Harmonica
    4. Lap steel
    5. Drums
    6. Piano

Noodling instruments: penny whistle, concertina, autoharp, and fiddle.
I collect musical instruments, so I'm always on the lookout for something. I have a used Ludwig xylophone that I haven't even played yet, and I bought it 2 years ago.:D

This thread is reminding me of one of my long term goals: to play in a four to six piece band with several folks who are multi-instrumentalists--so we could just pick the instrumentation that serves the song.

    Thanks for starting this conversation.

That was sort of the last "long term" band I was in. Drummer and bass were static, but the 2nd guitarist and I played so many different things. I did guitar, keyboards (lots of different things on keys too like piano, organ, accordion, brass, strings etc.), sometimes bass. Other guitar player did guitar, sax, mandolin, harmonica, flute, clarinet. We could cover pretty much all bases.

    1) Soprano Ukulele
    2) Dobro
    3) Button Accordion
    4) Mandolin

I'm seldom asked to bring any of them along when I'm invited to play.
I like to think it's because I'm such a good guitar player, but the truth is that the other instruments
    are kind of polarizing.

I'm not counting any different form of guitar like acoustic or resonator as a different instrument, therefore it's ukulele, bass and I do background vocals.
I'm also allowed to play drums on one song where we all switch instruments - and I enjoy it way more than the rest of the band and audience.....

Guitar is actually my third, though I play it more. I started on bass and am still a very good player and love it, but my band had a guy for bass and no guitar. Ditto with instrument two, piano. So I took guitar duties, my number three.
