I'm picking up my frankentele on sunday. It's in my friend's shop getting the new neck ('60s RI) and pickups (Seymour Duncan Broadcaster in the bridge, American Standard neck p/u) installed.

I bought this guitar used awhile back and I love it, and I will love it even more when it's finished!

My question is this- why are so many people against top loading bridges???

Page made alot of people think his toploader Tele was a Les Paul cause it sounded so thick.

    More spang, less twang?

    That's genuinely a question incidentally.

They are arguably a little bit of a pain to restring. Personally, I don't really think they are, and I tend to like the meatier sound I get from them. Or is it all in my head? I don't know. I do know that I think they are great and have three top load Teles in the collection so far.

My first Telecaster and my current (always) #1 is a 92 Standard with a toploader. Love it.

I never thought it was harder to re-string actually. I've been through a bunch of telecasters, and this one is "the one." It's also the first top-loading bridge I've tried out, aside from a Squier affinity or something.

What they said!!! Got one on an airweight Esquire style and drilled a Glendale plate to top load on another Esquire I'm putting together.:D I like 'em!

    Shhhhh..

I read on a Snapple Cap that the Shhh sound in England means hurry up not shut up. It could be very confusing for some.

I'm going to shut up and do it in a hurry.:D

Love my toploader here, have been since I bought it in '84... and no, they're not any harder to restring than other guitars, I had a wraparound bridge on an SG that was far more of a pain to restring than my telly...

Nothing wrong with a top-loader, fer sure!

I "converted" my 62RI to a TL bridge. Not sure why but it feels better to me. Likely all in my head but that doesn't make it any less real. We all only see things from our own perspective.

The Snapple Cap got it wrong. Trust me on this one.

Because they're a heretical abomination, much like six-saddle bridges, humbuckers, non-black pickguards, and any colour but butterscotch blonde.

Nothing. Not a single thing. Because after all:
