I kinda agree but beauty doesn't = class. There's a distinction between beauty, class and, in some cases, tacky. If you take a workman like piece of kit, like a Tele, and 'over bling' it, it can look just, well, wrong. We all have different tastes, in Teles and women!
That looks great. Such a practical, playable Tele. There is absolutely nothing gimmicky going on there, which I've always thought is the ideal Tele situation. I think I've decided I prefer a flat bridge plate without any lips. And I love the straight grain on that.
I believe all of the AVRI '62 Customs were alder. This run of CS '62 examples are ash.
I think we all know that this thread should be exclusively double-bound teles. There are a lot of great looking teles, but "classy" (and IMO the word handsome can be used here too) belongs to the regime of our double-bound brethren.
Rock on everyone, to each their own!
My new Chevy Tele
Thanks - it's a lovely guitar. Great tone, low action, and it looks just right.
The nitro finish has a couple of dents by now, but I don't mind - it adds to the "workhorse" feel.
Don't have a black "57" Bel Air to match. But I still have a scar from one.
It is a telecaster, it is a utilitarian tool. If you want bling there is this;
but class is more restrained, like this;
Though my personal vote would go for a black double bound.
I like binding as much as the next person but nice natural / woody finishes are classy in their own way.
Blackguard on White, Whiteguard on Black.
My Texas Special is a classy beast.
