Wish I still had it, loaned it to a guy and never got it back.
Mine was a circuit-bent modification job. It worked best when warmed up with a heating pad or flood lamp. I got it in 1968 for $20. I did this right after telling my girlfriend that I couldn't afford to take her to the prom. She forgave me 40 years later.
My high school band had a steady weekend gig at a teen club. One Friday night, I foolishly left the Maestro on the stage. Returning the next night, I was told that some guy had grabbed it and started throwing it against the wall.
I took this as an omen, and was thenceforth a convert to natural amp OD (mine was a 1963 Concert Amp--perfect for my needs in rock and jazz).
Ross Distortion about 1984. Ran my Vox Continental organ through it.
That pedal ! DOD FX-17 still have it but noisy as hell.
Unifuzz! This one, to be exact...
Acquired it around 1971, really cool but noisy as heck; sold it a few years ago for pretty big bucks.
Boss DD-3, in 1988. Still use it today.
My first guitar pedal was one of the above. I still have it. 18V of chorus goodness. I tired of chorus rather quickly and it gets very little use these days, but on the odd occasion it gets an outing, it reminds me of just how good a pedal it really is. It used to get used for 'Come As You Are', and pretty much that was it. Nailed it!.
Mine was a DOD Punkifier, I remember it as a terrible pedal! I'd like to try it again though to see if it really was that bad.
Ibanez Fat Cat Distortion. Eventually added an Arion Chorus/Flanger which was awesome. This was mid 80's.
DOD's Klon-style pedal:
Ross Distortion, around 1979. Damn, I wish I still had it.
When I changed over from acoustic, I was jamming with a local player and asked him about pedals.
He said you'll probably need three.. distortion, compressor and delay.... so I started shopping for a few at the right price second hand..
A DS-1 was first... I still have it and let other guitarists use it, even my kids band,,, a solid unit that's put smiles on first time users faces...
I had one of those. I traded it and a DOD Mystic Blues for a "broken" 1993 Duosonic. The person trading was a huge Nirvana fan and had screwed up the pickguard and electronics on the guitar. Fortunately, that was an easy fix.
Ya, ..maybe orig Big muff or ross or Vox
Shin-ei companion Vol / Surf / Hurricane / Wah with siren!!
Wish I still had it.
I bought my Ibanez Bi-Mode Chorus in 1984 or thereabout. It was basically two chorus pedals with independent controls in one box; you could get all kinds of different textures out of it. It was my always-on pedal because it was the 80s and that's how we rolled.
Mine only sounded good when maxed out.
I think it was 1966. It was the only "pedal" I was aware existed. I bought it because of that sound on "Satisfaction".
What was the siren!?
