Fresh Garbage by Spirit from the 1970s. An early environmental message and a irresistible hook. Can't beat it!

    Carl Perkins. Restless.

I walked up to the window
I said give me a ticket, please
The woman said where're you going
I said that's all right with me
    I'm just restless
I got to keep moving on...

I was going through a few different versions of this song... while checking out chord sites and trying to play along with the changes...

then I found this slowed down acoustic version.... sublime... and easier to study the changes...;)

    "Sky Babies" - The Wildhearts.

Catchy and loud, with a cheeky bit of 7/4 to top it all off.

Currently in my head is a song called 'Daddy Drum'. You won't know it because it was written by a five year old. Who apparently can write a 12-bar blues. (In this case, 'daddy' refers to the size of the drum)

I've got a daddy drum, I play it all night and day...

"Where Were You When I Needed You," written and recorded by PF Sloan. The Grass Roots seem to have been the public persona of Sloan and musicians on the recording.

30 years ago, it wasn't so easy to even listen to an older song like this. I used to record off the radio to get stuff. I only had 45 seconds, and it was muddy and hissy. I rerecorded sections, EQ'd them, and made a 20-minute loop. I really loved that song.

I just bought PF Sloan's auto-bio, and started going through YouTube to find stuff. He was a trip, and appears on many recordings of bands, and wrote/cowrote a ton of stuff. Jimmy Webb wrote a song called, "I Have Been Searching for PF Sloan," which was covered by the Association, Larry Coryell, and others.
