8 grand out of pocket and no communication in 2 years?

You and I have very different tolerance levels for concern.

    I don't know....

....this statement leads me to believe otherwise.

But, hey, it's your money and your deal. If you're OK with it, I guess that's all that matters.

    And back to the OP....

Sounds like he took the money you sent him and built the previous customer's guitar with it.
Which most likely means that you now have to hope that someone else orders - and pays for - another guitar so he can build yours.

    Good luck!!

    THREAD DERAIL

    Wayne doesn't take deposits.
He also doesn't promise you a due date or that you will even GET a guitar.
He builds what he wants, for who he wants, on his schedule.

When/if you DO get a guitar, he also only charges about 10% of what his guitars go for on the used market, so you can't really complain about how long he takes.
If you want instant gratification, go to Dream Guitars with about $35,000 in your pocket.

He is only "behind" if it is YOUR guitar you are waiting for.

I have a 2013 Henderson Century of Progress... BTW
I got it in 3 years and 8 months.

Ian still not ship guitar yet.
Ian did confirm my shipping address and Today He said .
"Ready to go I'll get there tomorrow and next day".
    and last week He said
"Going out monday I didn't want to ship over the weekend with the potential shipping chaos due to the storm even though it's in the other side of the country."

    It keeps in trouble.

    Thanks many supports.

There's a guy around here who does bad business by using current cash flow to build an earlier customer's instrument. Bad idea right there. People called him out on another forum and he claimed that his artistry was more important than deadlines. Too funny, now he builds them and then sells them when they're ready and has no waiting list. Seems he always has one for sale these days.

I hope the joy you find in this instrument is greater than the pain you felt while waiting for it.
