I have never used the "ignore" function, but I'm curious, when you put someone on "ignore" I assume you don't see their posts anymore, but can they still see your posts?

Well since no one is answering you....

I've noticed a couple problems with "ignore":

    1. You can't ignore moderators. I can understand you not ignoring "moderator content" posts, but what about ordinary posts?
    2. You still see posts of other people quoting ignored forum members. It would be better if these quotes were redacted.

I've never used the ignore function either.
    I've been tempted.
I just decided not to squabble here, or anywhere else.
    So far, so good.

Its more bother to "ignore" than it is to just ignore.

I have used ignore for a few members and it works well. You don't see their posts or responses to your posts. You can always display "ignored content" if you choose to do so within a thread. They don't know you've designated them as ignore so they can't be offended.

It takes a fair amount of conflict, antagonism or totally opposite points of view to invoke the ignore function.

    Judicious use is suggested.

In retrospect I'd like to ignore most of my own posts.

Well shoot ! If they don't know that I'm ignoring them, then what's the point :D

It would be far better if every time they logged in a large banner would scroll across the screen informing them of me ignoring them :). Oh heck, what if I am unknowingly liking posts submitted by people who are ignoring me ?

Social discourse is hard in these digital times

Then there's that awkward moment when you realize you're being ignored and you already gave them a "hi-five" aka 'like' :D

There's an Ignore feature?...Oh yeah...I see that now on my profile. All in all, everyone has been great, helpful, and I haven't had a problem with anyone. One of the few peaceful places, educational, entertaining and interesting.

Clearly, one can see a thread started by someone on one's ignore list!

I want to ignore people in my email. I keep labeling stuff as spam and it's never in the spam folder.
