    Rosewood can be stained. Which opens a whole new can of worms. Oiling it will also darken it, but I'm personally not a fan of oiled fretboards.

    Remember that your goal with the thickness of the head is to make it work with your tuners.

    Think i'll probably pass on the stain and hope the final 'lemon' oil darkens it enough to be satisfied. Just found it odd that the rosewood had so much purple to it.

    Yeah i don't have tuners on hand yet, so i used an average of a couple other tele headstocks. Left it a bit proud for now and will end up using a drum attachment on the drill press to finish the job.

    New old planer day!!
    Been buddying up to a guy at work that happens to have a bunch of aging woodworking tools that he’s systematically replacing. A while back I asked if I could buy the planer when he upgrades. Well that time finally came and he just offered to give it to me!
