Hey, I'm from Brazil and am spending a few days here in DC. Any homies that could suggest some nice stores for used pedals and all? I'm actually in Fairfax.

Action is great ('vintage gear paradise) and of course there is a Guitar Center in Fairfax - they do have a used pedal case...

There's also a Guitar Center in Arlington, at Seven Corners. I used to get great deals there, a few years ago.

    yup

Action is a must see. They also have a large selection of boutique pedals and a case of used ones. Don't be intimidated by some of the guitars that belong in a museum...the staff is friendly and is very happy to let you try the other gear out on display. It is VERY hard to locate. Once you get close to the address, you may need to call them to get directions to the entrance.

If you have a rental car and don't mind a 45 minute ride, cross the bridge into Maryland and visit Chuck Levins (Washington Music Center). Lots of great gear.

PS - there's also a second Guitar Center in Falls Church.

For GREAT used everything, you MUST make the trek up to Atomic Music:

    http://atomicmusic.com/

The address for their BIG store:

    Beltsville Store:
    10111A Bacon Dr.
    Beltsville, MD 20705
    (301) 595-4190

IDK if the little store in Rockville is even worth going to, because the big Beltsville store is fantastic. Even if you go in looking for one thing but leave with something else, it's worth the trip.

There's plenty of stores that are way closer to me than Atomic, but I will go out of my way to shop there. Eric and Luis are fantastic!

Action's my suggestion if you're in Fairfax and you've only got time to hit one place. They have a nice selection of pedals... new, used and vintage! Guitars and amps as well.

    I've never been to Atomic.

Chuck levin's has received many of my dollars over the years.

Each Guitar Center has a very different inventory, so, it's always fun to hit a few of them.

That's what I thought. I just couldn't imagine it comparing to the Beltsville location.

I LOVE that store. I'm glad I'm always broke when I go in there. Unfortunately, when they have something really rare, I've never been able to snag it for that reason. There was a sweeet tweed Princeton in there a couple of years ago.

    You have got to go!

If there is anything specific used that you have been hunting for, be sure to call first! Sometimes they receive stuff but it takes time to get it all situated out on the floor. I've often said, "man, I wish you guys would get one of these ____," and Eric or Luis would say, "hold on - we just got one in, and it's still in the back..."

I would buy every decent Super Reverb that they get in, if I had the bones.

    Such a cool store.

Thanks everyone. It's nice to have more options than the usual GC. I'll go tomorrow and will let you know if i'll be able to pay for my ticket back to Brazil.

I'll already have the earthquaker hummingbird sent here. I think I need a 'more traditional' as I already have a blue box and two devi evers. Actually, i should have brought them to trade or something.

I also am looking for a looper to use live, but maybe a new one might better.

    Anyway, thanks again everyone.

I'm going there too in a couple of days all the way from Manila. I'll be staying in Potomac. Do you have any other stores I should visit? I will also be going to new york.

Well, you'll already be in Maryland. So, Atomic will be closer for you then it was for Edipo. However, Action is not that far from Potomac either. So, if you can, hit both!

NYC is a whole new story and one I am not equipped to ask. I'd suggest a new topic listing NYC in the subject. You'll probably get a lot fo responses!
