Well, today I was kind of in no mans land. All my builds are drying or waiting for parts etc.
No wood to start anything new,or is there!!!
I still have a couple pieces of that old fir from the Fircaster projects
TO bad it is to thin to do anything with.I would need a cap at least 1/2 thick
Well with the wonderful aroma of lacquer fogging my judgment,I went to work
Well this is the result of a few hours work

Looks good from the back, nail hole and all
    [IMG]

    And now for the OSBCaster

It probably would have looked better with a lighter wood for the back but I used what I had.It actually looks pretty cool with all the different types of wood in different directions
Maybe it's still the lacquer talking

I really like that particle board cap. It's so random and confusing. It reminds me of...of...of...oh yeah...my short term memory!

I t'ink it kool----neoprimitivo 'n utilitarianistical. To my eye, it needs a trans (or tinted trans) finish for the top, something goldytangerinish over an amberwash over a blackwash, with a clear topcoat to enhance dimensional potential (give the individual crossed ply frags more "pop"), then go nuts w/ the p'ups---p'raps an Electroflux for the bridge and CC or P-90 @ the neck w/ either no guard or a dark tortie guard.

Reminds me of the stories of those classical guitar luthiers who put a nice soundboard on paper mache body.
I bet if you put some good pickups in it, it will still sound sweet.
If that happens, its the ultimate argument ender for 1 piece body vs 2, vs 3 :)

I'd love to hear what it sounds like! I think with a glossy clear coat, it will look rad.
