I am going to make an educated guess that the helicopter that the zombie swarm followed in the final episode of Season 2 is the same one from Season 1, Episode 1 ( I think ). The part where Rick is riding into Atlanta on horseback and runs into the zombie horde ( pre - tank refuge ) is where you can see the helicopter. I will have to go back and make sure what episode it was in. If I am right, the zombie's just took that long to meander into the vacinity of Hershel's farm the fateful night Rick took out Shane ( and Carl took out Zombie Shane ).

I agree with you. That was episode 1. I also think it took the zombies that long to walk from Atlanta to the farm. They're not sprinters.

If there was a Zombie Olympics, the track event would be the 100 Mile Mosey and the 40 Yard Shamble.

If that's the case, and my memory isn't as good as you'all (i usually see the show after my Sunday night gig) then it was a weird edit, first the chopper then the gunshot. Anyway, we shall see next season.

I think it is possible that the gunshot happened weeks after the helicopter. It was time compressed, for the flashback.

Oh, I still think there could be places with helicopters and such, but I don't think that was the case for the flashback. I think it took the zombies days (weeks??) to get to the woods, and they have been lost in the woods since then.

A few did wonder up and get stuck in the creek. I would guess there is a whole horde of them stuck in the creek currently.

IIRC the zombies even attacked submarines at the bottom of the ocean in WWZ

I've seen some movie zombies that could run like hell.
But mostly I've seen them depicted as slow & lumbering.
I hope when the real zombie apocalypse comes, that we get the slow ones.
I'm a middle aged fat guy with bad knees. And I don't run any more.
The last thing I need is freakin fast zombies.

I'm a middle aged husky guy with okay knees. I'm trying to surround myself with guys like you, as sacrificial lambs when we're outrunning the shuffling horde.

Oh Cast, how did you know??
[Clasps hands, bats eyes like Scarlett O'Hara]

I too hope for pokey zombies. I'm not so light on my feet anymore.

What I am really wondering is, what do we do for a zombie fix until the teevee gods grudgingly broadcast Walking Dead Season III ???

I'm reading the comic (Compendium 1) until it picks up again. There's enough differences between the show and comic to not spoil the TV series entirely.

Try reading ( or re - reading ) these fine zombie books:

    1) The Zombie Survival Guide - Max Brooks
    2) World War Z - Max Brooks
    3) Plague of the Dead - Z.A. Recht
    4) Plague of the Dead: Thunder and Ashes - Z.A. Recht
    5) Day By Day Armageddon - J.L. Bourne
    6) Day By Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile - J.L. Bourne

All are available from Amazon. All are excellent or above average zombie apocolypse books.
