well i would probably use the zombie-free time getting there to come up with a decent plan rather than running around like a madman everywhere just trying to stay alive

In most of these shows, avoiding zombies is only half the problem. The other half is avoiding the crazy people you will run into. It is the people you have to be most afraid of, not the zombies. The zombies are predictable.

A small island would be ideal.
Once you've secured it the zombies would have to figure out how to get there. They don't seem like they could drive a boat.
They might be able to swim or even walk on the ocean's floor.
But they'd get waterlogged & stuff.
    Do sharks eat zombies?

i think my plan would be to stay on the boat as much as possible, use an island to grow things, raise animals, resources etc but sleep on the boat

Staying on a boat, might not be all peaches and cream...

Edit: Ooops wrong video, youtube was acting funny (er). This is the right one now.

Based on " World War Z ", zombies do indeed walk on the bottom of the ocean. They are still answerable to water pressure, so they can't go too deep, but can go deeper than humans as they have no respiration to worry about. I would bet anything that no shark would touch a zombie. Their sense are far too refined to eat anything that jacked up.

Here is your wish for zombie vs. shark...

It's not just walking on the bottom of the river/ocean/etc....the current will carry them, potentially, to some shore.

    Right.
What we have here in New Jersey is bluefish.
And if you've ever seen a school of blues go into a feeding frenzy you'd probably take your chances with the zombies.

The crabs and fishes and lobsters will have a great feast on the dead flesh by wandering sea zombies.

The water currents and pressure will break off limbs and stuff as well. They will be severely weaken if they even get to Bahamas from Florida Keys.

I think we should be more productive with our minds and stop thinking of zombie survivals tactics! On the other hand, being zombiefied could be an actuality.

Zombies don't need to breathe. In the book World War Z they illustrate this problem because the zombies wander around on the ocean floor and will climb up anchor chains or onto islands
