I needed to replace my volume pot on my Road Worn recently. I like to do volume swells but with the new pot, it's impossible. It's way to stiff.

Does anyone have a remedy for this? It's a CTS 250K pot.

One more thing, the threaded shaft of the pot is too wide for the knob, so the knob sits higher off the baseplate than the tone knob.

Maybe I just bought the wrong pot?

Get a can of Deoxit, spray a little in the pot and work it till it loosens up.

Sounds like something you would use in rehab. I'll try it! Thank you. :)

The threaded bushing should be 3/8" in diameter. Some are 1/4" tall, and some are taller.

Try putting a 3/8" washer between the pot and the bottom of the control plate. That will lower the pot, and the knob will sit closer to the top of the plate.

Yes, I finally figured that out! They are two different sizes. Duh. :)
