    ok, so, i be

believe they sell shorter arms...or guys cut an inch off.
some folks bend them down a bit, yes?

i need to get mine where i can keep it in my hand and start notes with it pushed down better.

so, talk to me about shorter or bent ones. this is what i need to do, right? maybe put a standard one in a vice and bend it down a bit?

not so much the upward twist at the hand end of the bar, but ... down overall.

    ?

You can find shorter ones on EBay etc if you search for Gilmour tremolo arm (he uses shorter ones of course).

Callaham makes shorter ones, 2sizes shorter than the fenders. They are made from cold rolled steel also. They also have a better angle than fender. They are my favorite by far.

I suggest the middle sized one, the 'shorty' felt too small for me.

I have a 4" straight bar on one of my Squiers, works well for a light quiver with the palm of your hand. Probably a home made job, I've never seen any others.
