Good stuff. The neck shape is one of the best things about the current Epi range in my opinion. Personally I would hand sand it as much as possible, even if that takes ages, just to be ultra careful. I have ruined more than one guitar by careless use of electric sanders.

Not good to learn about your hand! On mine I used two tuneomatic bridges but they were useless and they move front and back with the tremolo and never have good tuning stable so then I bought a roller bridge cheap from China and it worked extremely well with a little lubrication. No big lose with tone and sustain if at all.

Oh this is looking so much better then that awful orange finish. 2 coats of tru oil now. Will sand tomorrow, and apply another coat. Really liking it so far. And on another note, my abalone inlays showed up today :)

    Looking good!

Will you mirror the top paint finish on the headstock?

Installed abalone inlays. That was a bit trickier then i thought, and not as clean as I hoped, but its not too bad ;-)

Probably not. Unsure how that would look. Thinking it might be too much.

Had to do some more sanding, and rough fit the hardware and pickups. Had to make a little extra room in the neck pickup cavity to get things to line up right. Holes for pickup ring screws were drilled. Its getting close folks. Few more days and i'll have picture of that glitter on the guitar!

Ended up doing a second primer coat, and more sanding. We did some test strips today messing around with the flake and midcoat paint. Me and my painter decided we are going to spray some mid coat, and sprinkle the flakes on, then bury in midcoat, then nitro clear finish. We really liked the look of the flake sprinkled on. Cant wait to see this finished. I know some of you all have coated guitars like this, right?
