Sorry for the humongous pics. It’s kinda hard to get a good shot of what I’m working against here. My thumbs hurt lol.

They only fit the American professional tele if that helps.

Can you take a pic of it straight above it showing entire bridge?

    They obviously don't.

    (Sorry. I couldn't resist.)

What the heck are the chances they gave you the wrong one?

That cover looks quite sufficiently spread and she STILL ain't going on.

Do they have these for any other tele? When I get it somewhat centered with both sides flared out I just can’t see it fitting. And when I get one side down flush to the body the other side is a good 3/8” off the body. I’m gonna give it another shot tonight after work just to say I did and probably call about it tomorrow.

That looks smaller than the one for my Am Pro (not wide enough). Maybe you can get the dealer to swap it. I would think that's a manufacturing defect.

Don't the Elites have the same cover?

No, the Elite has a modern bridge (no sides).

From what I gather the bridge is pretty much exclusive to the professional tele.

Yeah, the other guitarist in my band bought one of those American Professional Teles. Had the same problem, then took it off like two days later after all that trouble.

After all this Im thinking about just throwing it back in the case and forgetting about it. At this point I just want to get it on out of principal because it’s pissed me off lol.

I couldn't get mine on.... and I was afraid of scratching it too so I didn't want to get too rough with it. I ended up giving up.

Now i will need to to try to put mine on. I've had this guitar for three weeks, I made sure the mini ash tray was in the case when I bought. GC had no idea what I was asking about, but it was there. I haven't thought about it since, too busy playing! Love these pros!

    The same company/division/supplier didn't make both ?

And as far as fitting that on that ? That's stamping 101.

How much are those guitars ?

That’s what I’m thinking. I understand wanting a snug fit, but I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to go on easier than this lol. I’m thinking it’s defective. Not worth it to me to do anything about it though, at least right now. My curiousity is fading.

I thought Fender was incredibly responsive in replying to emails. Did you ever contact them?

I think he jumped out the window, landed on the cover, and it finally went on.
