Just watching this,
And grabbed a shot of his Tele. Sweet.
One of my faves......
This is a perfect guitar… and this is supposed to sound… like this. Milk it.
Thnx - Perfect way to start the day.
That is the best version I have heard of that great old song. Thanks!
MOST INTERESTING......I always thought all of Pete's "Teles", like in the PsychoDerelict videos, were Schecter partscasters. 'Course he's one working musician who can afford the real deal.
It must be said that Zak Starkey's hair looks quite rocking in this clip.
Whoa! Pete! This is a great take on this tune -
Just gotta LOVE Pete! Great!
It is a revelation to hear the author of a song do it in a bare-bones, stripped-down, original manner....one man band. Love it!
Best right hand in rock, and for a long long time.
Does anyone know what The Who recorded tracks he has used it (or other Tele) on, if any?
The Who at the BBC recordings have some tracks that sound like he is using a Tele, but they were all one off radio programme sessions.
Such an amazing sound. Any idea what amp he is using? Tweed Champ maybe?
Here he is miming with it in an 80s video.
No idea if it was actually used on the track though.
Does sound tweedy to me.
I recall he was quoted as saying that the Tele into a Fender deluxe (presume tweed) is the best guitar straight into amp tone but I don't recall where that was from in terms of source.
got the one I recall - Townshend quotes under "Rigs"
He says his favorite guitar is “the ’56 Telecaster. Orgasmic. Sell your house or your Picasso, and buy one. Or steal mine.”
so where's the 56?
Just shows to go 'ya. To me that Magic Bus clip sounds just bad. Go figure.
Rough Boy sounds great though.
The video that made me want a Tele...
