I’ve even created a Pinterest page with over 300 pics of Tom rocking his Teles!
I think Fender should do a commemorative Tom Petty Telecaster! Maybe with a pic of Tom on the neck plate. I’d buy one!

Me too. There's already a Mike Campbell Broadcaster signature guitar.

    .

After getting buy-in from his estate (license fee) ... start with the Tele models featured in rank-ordered song sales (popularity).

I'm not normally into signature guitars, but make it that red Bisby'd one with the neck humbucker and I'm all in.

    God bless Tom Petty.

It's sacrilege that Mike has one and Tom doesn't!

He had so many. I bet with a little research - interviews, articles, etc.- and some inquiries with Mike Campbell, Jeff Lynne, and others, Fender could get a pretty accurate idea of which Tele was Tom’s favourite. Then maybe Fender donates a portion of the proceeds to Tom’s favourite charities so some good comes out of it.

This is the guitar that got me interested in buying a Tele:

...and it was not until just today that I noticed that is a rattle hammer bridge. Oy. I would look at a signature model of this!

By the Pinterest page I would say you are a big Tom Petty fan. I think Fender could come up with a few and it would be awesome.

I am, I have been for many years. My son’s first concert at 8 was Tom Petty and the Heaebreakers. He knew the words to almost every song. My daughter cried when I told her about Tom’s death. In fact, she gave me Tom’s biography for Christmas. We love his music.

What a great idea! I really wish Fender would do this. I’ve always really liked the white guard esquire Tom played.

The American Vintage tele (2012-2017) looks and sounds just like his Torucaster which he has said many times was his favorite guitar.

TOM-PETTY-2.jpg It was nice to see him bust it out on his last tour after many years of retirement from the road. Last he took it out on the road before that was in 2001.

I love the Red Dog, but it might actually be Campbell's.
