Today I got an interesting call that is probably a scam, but I'm not sure how. I got a call around 4:00 o'clock this afternoon advising me that I needed to be checked in by a certain time at a hospital and to be sure and bring my insurance papers, and suitable clothing for my subsequent discharge, also any toiletries I might need or want.

I didn't respond in any way, if it's legitimate, it ain't my problem, it's somebody's problem that supposed to be there next week. I figure they were going to try and drag some personal information out of me like my SS number etc. either that or question me on how well I know the newest moderator on the TDPRI Bad Dog.

I initially felt like I should call the hospital and tell them, but decided if they are so inefficient as to need me to help them, they may not be in business by the time the patient gets there anyway.

I hadn't planned on it, since I let old Alex off the hook too! He says he's been getting along just fine the way he is, I pretty much feel the same about my own damned self.

Might be worth packing a pickle jar just incase?
A keepsake to place on the fire mantle?

The animal shelter where I live automatically neuters dogs when they are unclaimed after a length of time. They charge the person adopting the dog for the procedure before they can take possession of the dog. Horrible practice imo. My dog lived a happy full like intact for over 14 years.

Write "left" and "right" on your arms and legs ... just in case.

Maybe you should enquire about what procedure is planned? You could be passing up the chance at getting a free upgrade of some kind?

Rather than a neutering it could be a testicle enlargement procedure, maybe a lift? :)
Worth enquiring about via email imo.

Actually went to my vet for removal of a larger splinter (my GP declined - "let it abscess out..." srsly...)
So, off to the vet who knew how to administer lidocaine and use a scalpel to open the finger, fetch the oak flooring sample, and close.

Upon completion, I was pleased to NOT find myself waking up in the cage w/ cone of shame and a shaved belly.
    :)
    Some things work out okay.
    Peace - Deeve

At his age he can’t afford to get neutered. He uses his “friend” nightly (he takes a blue pill every night so he doesn’t roll off the bed in his sleep.... so I’ve been told).

You're all off the mark. This is well known to be the latest tactic of the nation's 2nd-tier medical schools who need subjects for training our up-and-coming 2nd-tier MD's. There's lots of them in LA reaching out to Bakersfield in particular. :D
