Stick with it at least to the 1:00 mark lead. The lead is very familiar.

man I love the way he plays those short runs around the chords during the verse and pre-chorus.

    Cool 345!
The solo is basically Sugarfoot Rag.
I wonder if Hank Garland played on the recording.
The guitarist in the video is miming.

@brookdalebill , you think it's a overdub? I need to see it on a bigger screen.

Sugar Foot Rag, eh? Cool. That lick somehow reminds me of my childhood.

Not Sugarfoot Rag, it's Yackety Ax.

Very cool, and funny song! I got "Yakety Axe" from the first part of the solo.

P.S. That video led me to an hour of watching Jean Shepard sing. She just got better and better. R.I.P.

If you locked me in a room and cuffed me to a chair to interrogate me and left me there with this song on repeat...by the time it came on the second time I would tell you whatever you want to know or beg you to kill me.

Only guessing, is that learned from mastering the banjo then applying it to guitar?

Not Sugarfoot Rag More like Yackety Axe (a takeoff on Yaketty Sax)

Not at all like the acoustic sounding guitar on the version that got radio play.

Pretty sure that there is a boom mic shadow early in the video.

SF Rag and Yakety Ax (or Sax) are often medley-fied.
