found an old thread but it was pretty weak.

We need a GOOD Timmy club thread. Post pics!

I sold my first Timmy long ago when downsizing. I regretted it. Tried cheap clones. Sounded OK but not great. Finally sucked it up and ordered a new one. I'm so very happy with this Timmy. Sounds amazing and looks good too!

And my board. I consider myself a pedal minimalist.

Curious about which “cheap clones” you tried that didn’t hold up compared to the real deal.

I’ve got a sparkle blue on my practice board and a black and gold on my gig board. Love it.

I might ditch the TS9 for another Timmy.

    I currently have 4 Timmy-style pedals.

    1. Caline PureSky - the first one I bought. Very cool, very transparent, powerful useful eq, and capable of a lot of volume.
    2. Mosky SS Silver - the second one I bought. Mini form factor. Sounds very good. Quite a bit like the Caline, but maybe a touch brighter.
    3. Vapor Ray - I built this diy Jan Ray clone. The Jan Ray is notoriously a tweaked copy of the Timmy, and the tweaks are pretty good. Much louder. A bit more punchy. Wider gain range. Nice pedal.
    4. Tommy - I built this diy Timmy clone. It has the proper cut controls instead of boost controls for bass and treble. Very good sounding, especially in cleanish boosted settings (my favorite for all of them really).

I have two boards, and at the moment, I have the Mosky and the Ray Gun on my main board. I set the Mosky cleanish, and the Vapor Ray more aggressively. But now that I have built the Tommy, I may do some pedal shifting.

The Timmy is a wonderful circuit, and the copies/variations, although maybe not identical, are all very pleasing.

I have one and think it’s excellent. With a Tele it’s a match made in heaven.

I bought the Surf green one after hearing such great reviews.
Mainly to match my Surf Strat and Surf Excelcior.
Later I heard the Serf Timmys had something special going on.
    Any confirmation?

Black with gold letters on mine. One of the best ODs made.

I rediscovered my Tim this past weekend, and I don't know why I ever had it off the board! The magic chain for me is Centura, Tim, KoT clone, and a wealth of amazing tones awaits, usually in the form of two of these at a time.

I can't wait to see how Paul C re-does the Tim, which is apparently in the works.
