Don't feel bad about taking so long Jupiter, I've got several projects that I've been working on for that long or longer.

Now hurry up and finish it.

If those brads stop the fret from seating in the groove, just trim a little of the fret tang over each brad/hole.

Thanks. I think they're short enough.

Jupe... Jupe....Maaaaate! two 1mm brads at each end of the centre line cut about 1.5mm high and sharpened with a small file to a point. Locate one at one end on centre, then scribe an arc using that to locate the other pin position on the opposite end............small hole pressed in with another brad or auger ( in my case a scrap of bike spoke ground to a fine point) slap on glue and a thousand clamps ( I wrap tightly with old bike tube split down the hey diddle diddle) 24 hours later all perfectly done and Uncle Bob will be a family member. No drama and fool proof! ;)

You realize I built an entire concrete guitar in less time than it's taken you to do the fretboard, right?

    I'm just sayin'...

A little pencil lead on the pins, a little zipzip with the hand drill.

Now I can press the frets in without mashing the pins. Speaking of which, where'd I see that fretwire last?

One fret measured and nibbled and test-fit and filed!

At this pace, it should only take me about six hours to do the rest....

Got the slots all cleaned out, and about 5 more of these puppies to do; any reason I shouldn't go ahead and press 'em in?

You're just teasing us! I bet you finished it ages ago and you're drip feeding us the photos just to have a laugh at our frustration... or maybe not!:)

You have invoked the floral bonnet. This is serious now. No excuses.

Those frets are looking just shiney. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Okay, well, we've made a start:
    IMG_3540.JPG

Gotta say I'm not much lovin the whole fretting a bound FB thing. Nibbling tangs is not as much fun as it sounds, and it's pretty nerve-wracking pressing the frets in. Second fret wouldn't seat somehow, and I pulled up the edges of the slot when I pulled the bad fret. :( Didn't lose any wood, and glued down a little bit, and it doesn't show...much...but I said a bad word when that happened.

    I don't think I'm gonna bind a fretboard again...

Looking good nonetheless. I did a bound fretboard but after the frets were installed. I think I'm gonna keep that method.

So you did the nibs method? I somehow thought nibless would be easier...
