Building a thinline style bass for my son. Twin f holes and j bass style pickups and electrics. Am going to try and counter any balance issues with putting the strap button on the neck plate. Will take a little but enjoying the experience with the little fella. Building a thinline with P90s also but will show bass at the moment. This building thing is addictive.

What scale? A short scale fender bass neck should balance decent

I am going to try 34" as this is what son already plays and as he is 9 I did not want to confuse him with a different scale. All along my inspiration has been the B&G big and little sister guitars and I thought, the 34" scale worked for them so why not try it.

I believe Squire used 34'' on their Tele shaped Bass as well. Not like the dive can get much worse than an SG style bass anyways.

    That's going to be SICK!
    Lucky kid!
I hope to do the same for my son when he's older.
