I have an uncle who has to know the thread count before he'll buy a pair of briefs. I really do. I'm not kidding. He really needs to know the thread count before he buys his underwear.

I don't know a single other person on Earth who cares about such a thing. Which, of course, go me to thinking...

What is something you care about that you're pretty sure no one else does?

Whose turn it is at a four way stop?

My boss’s double pane window rings around 800hz (when traffic goes by).

There’s a 4 way stop at an intersection between home and work, that either the cross traffic just doesn’t stop or, they’re there first and it turns into a Mexican standoff waiting for the other person.

Apparently using turn signals......turning OR changing lanes. Nobody else seems to care.

How the House Wren couple and their chicks are doing outside my kitchen window. I worry about them.

    Apples.

I'm worried some Millenial will plug one in to charge it, and it'll explode in a shower of hot fructose and vitamins.

    Thanks for listening.

p.s. tonight's shift has been really, *really* slow.

I do too. But I don't worry about them. I keep rooting for them to tear up any cockroaches that get near the house (or out of the house).

Interesting. Around here it means stop (sort of) then go regardless of whose turn it is.

In Stephen Hawkins final paper he described a finite universe. Is that universe a bubble expanding into space occupied by an earlier universe with different physical laws? If that is the case, is dark matter a substance in the earlier universe that matter in ours only interacts with gravitationally? Is dark energy the expansion of the earlier universe carrying ours along for the ride? I don't know if this is real physics or a possible plot for a Neil Stephenson novel... Does anyone else care about this? The other educated people where I work are biologists or MBA's. My wife is a psychologist. They roll their eyes.

That interests me. I wish I were more educated so I could do the math.

19C banjo music. Tonight I'm playing a piece published in 1886 and written by Edward H. Hulse. Hulse was born in 1860, died in 1920 and in his time was a well-known entertainer...virtually a 'rock star' of the 1880's.

Nobody else on the planet is playing Ed Hulse's tunes. There are only about 200 of us worldwide who even care. I'll publish Tab of this tune ("Epsilon Quickstep") tonight and maybe someone out there will play it and think of old Ed and his life on the road in the 1870's-1890's.

This particular intersection is a route from a main highway to Death Valley. Many of the guilty parties I believe to be tourists from Europe or elsewhere freshly landed in Vegas in their rental cars, and thus potentially unfamiliar with the subtle balance of the 4 way stop.

People putting their cell phones away while driving, and not texting while driving.

Apparently I am the ONLY land mammal on earth who thinks this is a good idea.
